Intermediate Care Neighborhood

Based upon the functional level of each resident, independence is the ultimate goal of the caregivers in the Intermediate Care neighborhood. Residents who live here typically are able to perform many of the Activities of Daily Living (ADL), but are unable to live totally on their own. Physical and emotional support are key to this resident's sense of well-being and purpose. Sensitivity to the individual needs of these residents allows them to live with dignity in supervised, home-like surroundings.

Residents enjoy kitchenettes for supervised cooking or just to enjoy a continental breakfast or late afternoon/evening snack. Residents also can involve themselves in monthly council meetings to assist in activity programming for their recreational fulfillment. Independent decision making in the delivery of care is a focal point of living at The Gables.
