We recognize that you have choices when it comes to nursing care facilities. We respect the fact that the decision on where your loved one is going to live is very personal and based on many factors that affect their life as well as the lives of all family members.

The operating philosophy of The Gables is based on choices. Managed by and under the direction of Memorial Hospital of Union County, we chose to build a quality, senior community in a quiet, family-based residential neighborhood on the northwest side of the modest-sized town of Marysville, Ohio.

Life here typically is less hectic, people are friendly. They may already know your name as most of the individuals who work at The Gables live in and around Marysville. New, local residents are typically more comfortable with their move to The Gables, because they recognize members of the staff who are monitoring their personal needs. These caregivers aren't strangers. They are warm, compassionate professionals who show our residents the dignity and respect that they so warmly deserve.

For our residents that move to The Gables from further away, the same warm hand welcomes them. The "neighborhood" concept we have embraced for our living units extends far into the hospitality our staff and other residents offer.

Residents at The Gables enjoy the quiet comforts of independent living in an environment that readily supports their physical needs while fostering their social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Many of our residents have been with us for several years; the others joined us after we moved into our 112-bed facility in Green Pastures in April 2001. In all cases, our residents have chosen personal lifestyles that are enriching, rewarding, secure… as individual as they are.

It's a simpler way of living at The Gables, but one that is important during this phase of your loved one's life. Every person living here is a valued member of The Gables community, regardless if they are long-term residents or temporary rehabilitation patients. Some residents are the happiest when their physical needs are met and they can live comfortably and quietly without major concerns. Others have lived and worked at a faster pace and still prefer a more active daily routine. Because we care about both the physical and the emotional needs of all residents, The Gables seeks to offer choices in our neighborhoods, activities and services.
